Children with Special Needs or Traumata

We have organized our therapeutic knowhow and infrastructure in a way that also permits us to extend our help to the children concerned living in our region.

Our ambulant care provides for one or two one-hour sessions by one of our therapists at Sterntalerhof.

The objective is to feel and enjoy the effect of equestrian therapy, music and art therapy, the pedagogy of expression and dance, etc.

For example, equestrian therapist Mag.Lisa Graschopf remembers her hippotherapy therapy with Lukas:
"A year ago I met Lukas, a little boy who had withdrawn into silence and hardly showed any emotions. His parents had come to us to help Lukas find a way out of his isolation through hippotherapy. And it worked: Benji, our therapy horse, helped Lukas "to open" his lips. His first words, "Benji, please walk!" broke the ice. After twenty ambulant units on horseback his voice was clear and strong and he even began to sing. In summer the next step will follow: a group of children focusing on horseback riding so that Lukas can develop his social abilities."

Sterntalerhof Accompanies Orphaned Families

Families with a child or children under age, who lost a parent or child, will be accompanied, supported, and stabilized by our considerable knowhow that includes existing interdisciplinary offers – therapeutical, pedagogical, and psychological - on an outpatient basis.

The offers range from art and music therapy via pedagogy of expression and dance to therapeutic pedagogy, performing exercises on horseback, and psychological conversation.
